Hello friends !

My today’s recipe is about all time favourite vegetable….our sweet loving aloo main means Mr. Potato 🥔. I love to experiment new ideas so today I made our traditional aloo k chanday in karahi style.

Aloo(potatoes) 1/2 kg
Oil 1/2 cup
Tomatoes 250 grams
GG paste 1/4 tsp
Salt to taste
Red chilli powder 1/4 tsp
Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
Crushed black pepper 1/4 tsp
Karahi gosht masala 1 tbsp
Dried fenugreek leaves 1/2 tsp
Lemon juice 1 tbsp

Green chillies
Julian cut ginger
Chopped cilantro

Wash, peel and cut potatoes into disc shape. Soak in water.

In a pot add oil. Add gg paste and bhonify for few seconds. Then add sliced tomatoes and again bhonify till tomatoes completely soften.

Add salt, crushed black pepper, red chilli powder and turmeric powder and again bhonify till smell of raw masala vanished.

Now add sliced potatoes and mix well with masala. Add half glass of water so potato tenders. Cover and cook for about 10 -15 mins on medium flame.

As potatoes soften now at this stage add dried fenugreek leaves along with karahi gosht masala and on final stage squeeze lemon juice. Sprinkle some water and cover the lid.

Simmer for few mins on low flame. Turn off the flame and dish out in a beautiful plate or in small karahi. Garnish with chopped cilantro, green chillies and Julian cut ginger (optional). Serve with homemade chapati. Enjoy with your family and friends 😊
